Well kids, I'm still toiling away at my little parody/tribute video documenting a four-decade love affair with all things Trek. I still have a couple of days to edit and polish video and sound. It will run about eight to ten minutes when all is said and done (with more said than done, I'm sure.)
I thought I would tease you with a few images from the video. Most of it will be photo montage, with annoying voice-over provided by Yours Truly.
Hey! Don't lean on the console, kid.
Trained attack tribbles Fluffy and Muffy guard the remnants of my once vast Star Trek collection. Alas, the rest was lost in the great fire at the Library Of Alexandria.
Dude! Watch where you point that thing. You'll put somebody's eye out.
Yikes! It's my uncle Elbert!
I'm a tad anxious about how it is going to be received, since I haven't asked anybody for permission to use their photos or clips from their films. I'm sure that my usage falls well within the guidelines of Fair Use, but I would hate to alienate the folks to whom I hope to pay homage. I intend to put links to all the filmmakers I've borrowed from, and even ones I didn't use. Then I'll contact them all with the link to my final vlog, so I'm hoping everyone will be cool with it and feel honored by the praise heaped on by a luminary such as myself... Cough, cough.
I like the pic of Balock with the shades - Coool man! I use to have at least 3 of the books pictured, and many others as well - NOTHING anywhere near your library. however over the years I unfortunatly sold many of my books; kicking myself now for giving up that collective nature of my pack ratness. I enjoyed TREK, and am excited that New Voyages is striving to revive that ol flames. Looking foreward to your own Tribute. I remember your Gold Shirt, and all the adventure we dreamt.

Ah yes, but I envied your 3D "Omega Glory" Viewmaster disk. Now that was cool. Plus you always drew the Enterprise much better than I did. Speaking of Star Trek drawings, I believe that Professor X is still in possession of one fine Allan Carter original, a pen and ink of Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise, I think.
I wish I still had my Trek stuff. I never sold it. It, like my entire collection of Starlog magazines, got packed up in boxes which seem to have disappeared over the years. I would love to spend an afternoon thumbing through a few of those.
Ugh... I'm stumbling down memory lane again. I guess I'm getting old.
